CPIC Blueprint Forest Conservation and Sustainable Timber Production by Lyme Timber Company

Sustainable Forest Management seeks to balance environmental, social, and economic outcomes for current and future generations. Agriculture, development, and unsustainable timber production contribute to the deforestation of North American forests, among other economic and population-related forces. In addition to eliminating significant carbon sinks, destroying critical ecosystems, and contributing to erosion, industrial forestry can have significant impacts on human health and wellbeing. Sustainable management of forests for timber production and conservation offers one solution to restore the ecological services of forests, described in this Blueprint based on the case study of the Lyme Timber Company.
